Perhaps you’ve already read a few pages of the Bible, at one time or another, and now you’d like to dig deeper. But your courage just keeps failing you. A thick book with little coherence - or so it seems. We’ve had the same experience. And that's why we’ve created this website. For everyone who wants to get a better understanding of the Bible.
With the reading plan we offer, you can get started on your own. If you like, you can also join a group. Not only are the meetings of a Bi1y group a lot of fun, they’re also a place where you can ask all your questions, have discussions about the texts you have read and get more background information through videos or talks.
Each week, you read about 30 pages of the Bible (or listen to them on your smartphone or tablet). After one academic year (three quarters), you will have read the entire Bible.

I finally managed to read (most of) the Bible, something that would never have happened if I had kept trying to do it alone. The format was very informative and illuminating.
Bible in 1 year has given me a better overview of the Bible. It has also renewed my interest in the Bible, causing me to spend more time studying it.
With Bible in 1 year you get a good understanding of the cohesion between the various books. Because you read through the entire Bible at a fast pace, you get a better idea of the connections and overarching themes.
In addition, it was super fun and I learned a thing or two about the backgrounds of bible books during the weekly meetings; especially the lesser-known books were interesting to discuss.
I enjoyed diving deeper and having many wonderful conversations. It wasn't always easy to read the Bible, especially the old testament presents God in such an upsetting way, but by reading the entire Bible in one year, I learned to look at it as a collection of stories of experiences with / perceptions of God through the ages.
The Sunday meetings were always enjoyable, seeing each other and finding connections between the texts and the here and now.
The Bible in 1 year foundation (in formation) facilitates an international volunteer community of initiators, project leaders, speakers, translators, bible readers and web designers.
The aim of the foundation is to encourage people to read through the entire Bible in one year, and thus get a better understanding of it.
The foundation subscribes to the Apostles' Creed, the simplest and most widely recognized basis for the Christian faith, put in writing around the year 170.
Our readers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, with cultural, religious or life-affirming motivations to join us and, by reading together, get a better understanding of the Bible.
