Bible in 1 year

The Bible in 1 year foundation (in formation) facilitates an international volunteer community of initiators, project leaders, speakers, translators, bible readers and web designers.
The aim of the foundation is to encourage people to read through the entire Bible in one year, and thus get a better understanding of it.

The foundation subscribes to the Apostles' Creed, the simplest and most widely recognized basis for the Christian faith, put in writing around the year 170.

Our readers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, with cultural, religious or life-affirming motivations to join us and, by reading together, get a better understanding of the Bible.

  • How it all started

In 2005, a group of enthusiastic young people from Houten (The Netherlands) wanted to read the entire Bible together over the course of a year. In the process, all kinds of inspiring and reusable materials were created.

  • Bible in 1 year is born

Those materials, including videos and presentations by speakers at bible meetings, have been collected and made available to anyone who wants to read the Bible, in a group or independently, over three quarters.

  • We continue to grow

Today, Bible in 1 year groups are active in several places in the Netherlands, and even in France.
